I have a kind and caring manner with children and am able to establish positve relationships. I am skilled in planning lessons, preparing appropriate resources and assessing children’s learning.
I am committed, dedicated and organised and reliable. I have a very good knowledge of the National Curriculum and what is expected of children academically. I also have excellent subject knowledge and have passed skills tests in Numeracy and Literacy. I have good communication skills and am fluent in Spoken and Written French.
During my time working in schools I have had the opportunity to support and work with pupils as a whole class as well as in groups and on a one to one basis. I have also had the opportunity to liaise with teachers and contribute to lesson planning, lesson preparation, school trips and playground duty. Furthermore I have been involved in undertaking individual reading, carrying out English and Maths assessments and teaching French to both Reception and Year 1 classes.
I have worked with children who have Special Educational Needs, supporting them in class, using additional resources where necessary, as well as out of class during lunch and play time. I made sure the work set was at an appropriate level and assisted during speech and language therapy sessions. carried out follow-up work where necessary.
I have had the opportunity to work with a variety of children from Nursery through to year 6, preparing them for various tests including SATs, 7+ and 11+ tests. I have learnt valuable lessons including how to plan, deliver and assess learning activities. I have grown to appreciate the dedication, commitment, sensitivity and patience that is required to work with children.
I have worked in primary education in schools across London for the past 10 years teaching and supporting children of all levels including those with special educational needs.
I have studied towards a PGCE in Primary Education focusing on Early Years and KS1.
As a tutor, I aim to use my skills and knowledge learnt over the years working in primary education in order to provide the best for your children academically. Understanding children. what their needs and interest are is paramount. Learning has to be fun, interactive and take the children's likes, dislikes and interests into account.
