Hi there,
My name is Florrie and it is a pleasure to meet you. I have been working as Removed tutor since graduating in 2016 from the University of Cambridge and I love my job. Currently, I live between the UK and Mexico, so I am also always learning about new languages and cultures.
I look forward to meeting you soon :)
My approach is above all motivational. When I was studying languages, I had the great fortune of having teachers that actually made me enjoy the subject, which transformed the drudgery to a lifetime of fascination and travel. If I could give a little of this back to my own students, it would be a job well done.
I like to have fun with my subjects, including games and the interests of the student wherever possible. This is, of course, not to the detriment of structure within my classes. I believe in following a course, making sure that you understand said course, be it grammar or literature, and thus ensuring fantastic results. I have helped numerous students enter to top universities, such as Harvard in the US, LSE, Oxford, Cambridge and so on. I have also helped many students to ace their 11+ exams, allowing them entrance to many of the top private schools in the UK.
I have spent my entire life learning languages and analysing literature, therefore I know all too well what makes a subject worth learning, which in many cases is a good teacher. I have honed my own teaching style by listening to others who have taught me, from my teachers at Cambridge to what I have learned in Mexico. What works is above all dependant on the needs of the student, so in conclusion, this will always be reflected at the centre of my classes.
