I have over twelve years of experience private tutoring, running small group tutoring sessions and working in schools. I am an English qualified lawyer but having worked at international law firms full-time whilst tutoring on the side for six years, I now work part-time as a lawyer to enable me to spend more time tutoring. I am passionate about helping children improve their confidence, academic ability and develop strategies to assist them with lifelong learning.
I was tutored as a child to prepare for the 11+ and this greatly improved my confidence and gave me strategies to obtain a scholarship to one of the UK's top all girls' day and boarding schools and to deal with the pressures that followed during secondary school, university and life working as a lawyer.
Having worked with and tutored hundreds of children aged 6-11 one-to-one, in classrooms, in small groups and at summer camp, I now focus on tutoring children aged 8-11 in Maths, English, Reasoning and general entrance exam and interview technique. I have had particular success in helping with preparation for 11+ entrance assessments for year 7 and generally improving confidence and attitude at primary level to help children achieve their potential.
My students have successfully gained entry for many of the top grammar and independent schools in and around London, including scholarship and bursary places. A full list of schools can be found on my website along with more information about me, testimonials and top tips for parents.

My aim is to teach, mentor and be a good role model for the students I work with to enable them to develop their own skills and techniques for their school and adult life, to inspire my students to have high aspirations and to help my students to achieve their goals. I tailor my tutoring to each individual child and use different methods depending on how that student prefers to learn.
I give bespoke advice to parents on what they can do and what methods their child can use for improving ability and confidence and I also give guidance on how to go about deciding on the most suitable secondary school for their child. I give feedback and advice to parents at the end of each session and am available between sessions by phone, email or text to discuss any areas further.
