I have been a Spanish language tutor for over 20 years. I am enthusiastic and nurturing, and work hard to engage every student so as to draw the best out of them.

I am a Spanish native speaker and, having grown up between Venezuela and Spain, I bring into the lessons first-hand cultural knowledge on both regions, and the ability to conduct my lessons using the Latin American or peninsular Spanish accent, depending on the student's preference.

I am also a Cambridge ESOL qualified teacher (CELTA) and I am available for online or face-to-face tuition.

Tutoring Experience

I have 20 years of experience tutoring students from secondary school through to university, including gap year and boarding school students (whom I tutor during half terms, or breaks from school). Also, professionals who need Spanish for work or other commercial reasons, and adults of all ages and abilities who want to learn or improve their Spanish in order to travel to Spain or Latin America.

Tutoring Approach

I am friendly, approachable and passionate about teaching Spanish (and English as a foreign language). I believe that, with the right support and encouragement, every student can achieve fantastic results.

My classes are based on communication and active grammar support with the build-up of vocabulary and cultural knowledge, and are completely tailored to each individual’s specific needs as to address their every weakness.

Nothing drives me more than seeing my students grow in confidence as they gain knowledge and fluency in Spanish!

My online experience:

My online teaching journey started years ago with boarding school and university students that needed specific support. Then, with Covid-19, all my lessons were conducted online but nowadays I have a mixture of both face-to-face and online students.
