I am currently working as an English Lecturer at a well-respected Higher Education College in Leicestershire, where I specialise in GCSE English. I am 34 years old and hold a BA Honours degree in English and Education Studies. I bring both expertise and enthusiasm to my teaching, creating an engaging and supportive learning environment.

Tutoring Experience

I have been delivering English tuition for the past 14 years, specialising in supporting students preparing for their GCSE English exams and more recently those students who are completing their 11+ (entrance exams). With extensive experience working with various exam boards, including AQA & Edexcel, I have a deep understanding of exam marking and know exactly what examiners are looking for—which are crucial insights that can significantly benefit GCSE students.

Throughout my career, I have worked with students aged 4 to 18 across both mainstream and special needs schools. This experience has equipped me with the skills to support learners of all abilities, ensuring that every student receives the tailored guidance they need to succeed and reach their potential.

Tutoring Approach

I work closely with each tuttee to create a personalised learning plan based on their goals and areas of difficulty. Every session is structured with a clear focus, outlining what we will cover and what we aim to achieve by the end, ensuring steady progression over time.

I will provide tailored resources and materials to support learning, including past exam papers if required, to help students practice and build confidence in their skills.
