I am a highly-experienced teacher and tutor of English Language, Literature and English as a Foreign Language. I am a Head of English and have worked in both co-ed and single-sex schools, and in State and the independent sector. I have cutting-edge, up-to-date knowledge of the GCSE and A Level syllabuses, and have taught practically every current exam board at both levels. I have successfully coached boys and girls of secondary age as well as adults, and am known for both an outstanding depth of knowledge and a considerate, patient and compassionate attitude to teaching, as borne out through a string of successes over the past seventeen years. I am willing and able to help every student, regardless of current level.

I am a highly experienced tutor and teacher of both English Language and Literature (10 years' experience), as well as some 17 years' further experience in teaching English as a Foreign Language. I have taught every age group from Year 7 to year 13, and students of every level of ability, and am particularly known for my ability to achieve success for students in short time frames before exams, in both Language and Literature. I have a high degree of postgraduate knowledge, making me an ideal tutor for those who need additional A Level or even University help, and this is supported by a long pedigree of experience in writing educational materials and guides for students, helping them to gain that elusive A or A*. I am comfortable and experienced in coaching students of all levels of knowledge and attainment, and can offer 'crash courses' and revision courses as necessary pending the upcoming exams.

I have taught both boys and girls of school age as well as adults, and am equally happy dealing with both. My approach is tutee-centred and I always ensure that they have the opportunity to go through their exact needs prior to commencing tuition. I am also a Head of English so have very current, cutting-edge knowledge of exam boards and syllabi, and am able to give invaluable up-to-date information and advice on exam approach.
