Farhaad

Hello there! My name is Farhaad Ahmad & I am a mathematics with finance and accounting graduate in Queen Mary university of London. My degree consisted of 90%+ hardcore math modules (such as calculus, partial differential equations, algebra, linear programmes and much more) and then a small minority of Finance and Accounting modules. This has allowed me to be overqualified to tutor at the primary and secondary levels.

Tutoring Experience

I have tutored a number of students, ranging from year 7 to year 11. I have also got experience with behavioral need students, and I am able to tutor for the students who struggle in this regard. I have also tutored foundation level students with some disabilities and confidence problems.

Regarding mathematics, I have completed A-level math, as well as a degree in mathematics at the renowned Russel Group Univerisity (Queen Mary University of London).

Tutoring Approach

I keep the lessons and interventions close to the content which needs to be covered. I offer a personal approach to tutoring, and work on a case-by-case basis, employing a heavily individualized approach depending on the student, which involves keeping the lesson engaging, pushing the student to the limit of their ability and always pushing to cover as much content to a high level of completion. This means if we finish early, we just go onto the next topic. I offer a tutoring service in math at GCSE for all exam boards, and all age groups from year 7-11 as well as primary school. I work with each student based on their individual strengths and weaknesses. I listen to students conversation and thought processes when they are stuck on mistakes to help resolve them, and most importantly I build confidence in my students by rewarding good work ethic. When the student is co-operative in this approach, it ultimately boosts grades. Just before exams, I step away from content mastery/learning, and focus purely on past exam papers. This allows my students to be prepared.
