Hello! I'm Esther, a dedicated secondary maths teacher with a passion for helping students reach their full potential. I have been teaching students aged 11-18 for three years at a highly successful school in Whitton, where I work in an outstanding mathematics department. After training to teach maths at the University of Oxford, I joined a school that has seen incredible results, including a 96% pass rate for GCSEs in 2024. In my first year teaching a GCSE group, I broke the multi-academy trust record for Foundation Maths, and I am on track to do the same with our Higher cohort this year.
The school has grown significantly during my time here, achieving an 'Outstanding' rating from Ofsted, and I’m proud to be part of a department that consistently produces excellent outcomes. I absolutely love supporting students in gaining confidence and achieving their goals in maths, whether that means tackling tricky concepts or refining exam strategies.
I tailor my teaching to suit each student’s needs, ensuring that we focus on the areas where they need the most support. I use essential skills checks at the start to assess their level and ensure we’re building on a solid foundation. I aim to follow the student’s curriculum, making sure they’re prepared for exams, particularly GCSEs, through targeted exam practice. I incorporate various strategies to help students build confidence and approach exam-style questions with ease. I strive to create a supportive and engaging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and are motivated to succeed.
