Hi, I’m Emma and I’m passionate about the teaching and learning of English. I have 15 years of classroom experience as well as over 7 years of tutoring. I can help improve English for GCSE, A-Level and Key Stage 3. In addition, I have experience of Key Stage 2 English and 11+ preparation. If you need help with English, I’m your person!
I have taught at 4 different schools across Kent.
Outside of teaching, I love to cook. My other big passion is travel.

Tutoring Experience

Since qualifying in 2009. I have 15 years of classroom experience and 7 years of private tuition. I studied for my English degree at Loughborough University and completed my teaching PCGE at Canterbury Christ Church University. Since then, as well as a classroom teacher, I have held various positions of responsibility within a school as well examining both Language and Literature GCSE papers . I have extensive experience in mentoring trainee teachers achieve their PGCE. I have also delivered whole school teacher training, lectured post graduates on effective classroom assessment and I’ve even volunteered in the community to educate expectant parents.

My approach is student led. I will gauge what the student needs whilst building a strong working relationship with them.
