Hi everyone!
I'm Emma. I am currently on maternity leave from my secondary school English teaching job and looking for some tutees to keep my brain ticking!
I am currently a deputy head of English and I currently teach the AQA and Edexcel boards for GCSE English Language, GCSE English Literature and A Level English Literature.

I have been a teacher for 15 years - I can’t quite believe that! - and have taught in lots of different settings: main stream state schools, private schools in London and abroad in Dubai and Vietnam.

I am available for private tutoring basically at any time - due to my maternity leave I am very flexible with days and times and we can come to an arrangement which suits us both.
I am an approachable and experienced teacher and I have taught a varied and enriching curriculum throughout my career so far.

Tutoring Experience

I completed my PGCE in Secondary English and Drama at Newcastle University in 2011.
I have experience both teaching and moderating/marking several exam boards, such as:
AQA English Literature and Language
Cambridge IGCSE English Language and Literature and English as a Second Language
Edexcel English Literature and Language.
I have copious experience in both the classroom and privately tutoring, and I am of course fully CRB checked.

Tutoring Approach

I have an approachable and friendly manner, and am keen to help my tutees achieve their full potential. I work hard and expect my tutees to do the same. I love working with young people and I build strong relationships with both my students and tutees.

Lesson prices:

I charge £40 per hour for students in Years 7 and 8
I charge £50 per hour for students in Year 9 - 11
I charge £60 per hour for students in Years 12 and 13.
