I am a 1st year mathematics PhD student at Warwick University. I graduated from the University of St Andrews in 2021 with a Masters in Mathematics. I obtained a first and also received multiple awards over the years for my academic achievements. I have always enjoyed teaching and tutoring and would love to help you or your child learn and enjoy maths because I do believe it is a wonderful subject!
I have been tutoring on and off since the age of 14. I am now 25. I have tutored at primary, early secondary, GCSE and A level standard. I have completed a teaching course at St Andrews which involved me researching teaching techniques and teaching maths to a primary school class for several months. I have worked with children in many other fields also. I taught netball teams, taught dance classes and volunteered at a school for disabled children.
My approach would entirely depend on what you want. I would be more than happy to follow the syllabus and do a more straight forward approach but I would also be very happy to simply teach interesting aspects of mathematics and see what appealed most. There are so many ways to answer a single question in maths so I’d make sure to find what fits for you in each and every part of maths. Also if it what you would like, I would set homework so that we can track progress and reinforce learning.
