I'm currently a professional working in the insurance industry, who has an ambition for teaching, but more importantly making difficult concepts simpler and easier to digest. I can speak English and Arabic (fluently) as they are my native languages, but also can speak Korean at an intermediate level. As a student I was always trying to find new methods to process new information and effectively study and these are skills that have become particularly useful in my tutoring experience.
I have been tutoring for 3 years now, Combined Science and Maths at GCSE level.
As someone who is passionate about learning languages I have also been exchanging languages with many friends over the course of two years. In this time I assisted English learners with speaking practice, pronunciation, developing a more natural way of speaking English as well as IELTS preparation.
I think the most important aspect of tutoring is to tailor to the tutees needs as well as understanding what the best way they learn is. Over my experience teaching I have been able to adjust my way of teaching to accommodate to the student and effectively produce results! I also focus on making sure the tutee understands the basics before moving on to more complicated topics. To make sure that the session is effective I always give a short quiz at the end to see if the tutee has really understood the fundamental ideas taught.
