I’m a qualified primary school teacher with a First Class Degree in Primary Education, and can provide tutoring for children in the evenings, weekends, and school holidays.
I currently teach Year 1, where I focus on phonics and helping children develop strong writing skills, as well as creating diverse and engaging maths lessons using a range of resources. I believe in making learning interactive and fun, whether it’s through hands-on activities, visual aids, or games, to keep children motivated and excited about their learning.
Throughout my teaching experience, I have gained valuable experience working with all ages of primary children, which has given me a solid understanding of the expectations across all primary ages. I know exactly what children need to achieve at each stage and how to help them get there, whether they are in the early years or preparing for SATs. I will ensure that lessons are planned effectively and efficiently to meet each child’s unique learning needs.
Before becoming a teacher, I studied French, History of Art, and Art at A Level at school, and then started a course in Landscape Architecture at Edinburgh University because of my love of nature and art. However, after spending time working in a nursery and discovering my passion for working with children, I realised that teaching was the path I wanted to pursue rather than working in an office.
I offer tailored sessions in subjects including:
✔️ Maths
✔️ English (reading, writing, spelling, and comprehension)
✔️ SATs preparation
✔️ Phonics & Early Literacy Skills
✔️ General homework support
These can be one-to-one or in appropriate groupings.
As a patient and friendly teacher, I know every child is unique and learns in their own way. I have experience working with children additional needs, including in my class today, which has helped me develop a strong understanding of how to support diverse learning needs. I also have experience working with younger children in a nursery setting, giving me a deep understanding of early child development and how children learn from a young age.
I aim to create a positive, supportive environment where each child can build confidence, feel motivated, and succeed. Whether your child needs extra support or a little more challenge, I can help them grow and achieve their best. I offer both tutoring from my home or from yours. Please feel free to get in touch to discuss how I can support your child’s learning.
