I have over 20 years of teaching A Level Mathematics and Further Mathematics. I was the head of Mathematics of an independent girl's school (Year 7 to year 13) and now I am teaching In an international school in Brighton.
I am an experienced teacher in Mathematics since 1984. I do both class teaching as well as one-to-one tutoring. I am also experienced in setting up online zoom lessons for remote learning if required. I am experienced in teaching Pure Mathematics, Statistics, Mechanics, and Decision Mathematics modules, with special expertise in Further Statistics and Decision Mathematics (D1, FS1 and FS2) for the Edexcel specification in Further Mathematics. I have also been tutoring students taking exams from AQA, Edexcel and OCR. I graduated from Bristol University with B.Ed (Honours) and PhD, both are related to Mathematics education. I also achieved a Distinction in Post Graduate Certificate in Applied Statistics. I have also taught adult classes in Applied Statistics for Social Scientists and GCSE Mathematics for Birbeck College, University of London and other Further Education Institutes. I have been doing one-to-one tutoring on all levels from GCSE to A Level; I have experience in tutoring undergraduate students on Mathematics and Statistics modules.
For one-to-one tutoring, I use a learner centred approach. I encourage students to communicate their thought process and focus on improving their understanding and confidence by identifying key techniques required in the problem solving process. I also set regular achieve tasks for the students to monitor their progress. On an one-to-one set up I would be able to make a personalized learning plan for individual students.
