With 15 years experience, I am a dedicated and passionate teacher of English, with a proven track record. I am very much at the forefront of education still, and work on the leadership team, where I direct and teach English across our academy chain.
I have been a head of faculty, examine for AQA and work as an SLE, where I support other English teachers in a range of schools. My current role involves directing English across a number of schools, working closely with staff and learners. My teaching timetable involves my own GCSE classes, and team teaching with others to support the learners who need the most support. I have a proven track record of success, and pride myself on the relationships I build with my classes. For the last 5 years, all the GCSE classes I have taught have made at least one grade more on average progress, compared to national. This is something I am incredibly proud of, reflecting my passion for high quality teaching and learning and my ability to get the best out of the students that I teach.
My approach will be centred around your child and their needs. I will get to know your child’s strengths and any gaps in their knowledge and skills which I will diagnose. The sessions will be planned and tailored to your child’s needs.
As with all my classes, I believe it’s important to build strong relationships with learners, instilling confidence in them.
I provide detailed feedback and clear ‘next steps’ that guide tutees to improve and make rapid progress.
