¡Hola! مرحبًا, I’m Elete, a teacher, translator, and editor from London. I work between Spanish, Arabic, and English. I take pride in sharing my love of languages and tailoring my approach to each student, always fostering a calm, rigorous learning experience. When I’m not teaching, I enjoy going to the theatre, cycling, and reading with a nice hot drink.
I have experience teaching Spanish at primary and secondary levels, and have taught both foundation and higher tiers. I am confident planning lessons and coordinating them within a curriculum to ensure retention and review of each topic. I also work as an examiner of writing and speaking exams with the two foremost exam boards, so I know the syllabus incredibly well and am skilled in preparing students to succeed in exams. I closely consider the additional needs of each student to incorporate into my teaching practice, ensuring that learning is accessible to everyone.
Everyone that has entered my classroom or watched me teach has used the word "calm" in reflecting on what they saw. I take pride in maintaining a calm, focused and creative space that fosters both a love for language while always keeping in mind the elephant in the room—exams—and making sure my students feel more confident with every answer, whether it is correct or not. Constructive feedback, routines, and open communication about what is and isn't working are some of the vital elements of my teaching practice, and I myself am consistently learning about innovative teaching techniques I can try out in order to always be the best teacher possible. Nothing fascinates me quite like languages and how they're taught, so I suppose I'm in the right profession. ☺️
