Thank you for reading my profile. I am based in East Yorkshire, but am available for online tuition nationally.

I am new to First Tutors as I am looking for new students in starting in August. I am currently fully booked until after the summer exams. I will be available to take on new students once I have finished my exam marking in July.

Tutoring Experience

I am a qualified and experienced mathematics teacher in East Yorkshire, currently teaching part-time in an “outstanding” inner city comprehensive school.

Alongside classroom teaching in secondary schools, further education colleges and adult education settings, I have been a private tutor since qualifying as a teacher in 2002. Since 2020, I have adapted my private tuition to be predominantly online, after being employed by the government funded National Tutoring Programme from 2020-2024.

I am an exam marker for two major exam boards for both foundation and higher GCSE plus A level maths.

Tutoring Approach

Friendly and approachable. Building confidence will lead to success.

Lessons are fully planned for the individual needs of the student. With my many years of teaching and tutoring experience, I can adapt and vary the approach to suit the student.

Lessons can be completed in person at the student’s home or online using an specialised tutoring platform, with sessions available for parental access either during or after the session.

I have enhanced DBS.

Availability:
Monday-Thursday between 3:30-6pm, increased availability during school holidays.

I also have some availablity for tuition during the school day for home schooling, but this will have to work around my school timetable.

I do not offer weekend tuition.
