Assistant Head of English and GCSE Examiner (both Language and Literature), specialising in both English Literature A-Level and GCSE Language resit. Previous Head of A-Level English. Teaching in an OFSTED outstanding school and have a track record of achieving excellent progress with pupils, including those with from PP backgrounds and with SEND.
Tutoring Experience
Top set teacher for Year 11 English Literature and English Language & A-Level Literature lead teacher. Examiner. Experienced teacher who has taught all years from Year 7 - Year 13. Work in an inner city school & have significant experience with EAL and SEND pupils.
Tutoring Approach
I believe all pupils' should be taught to a Grade 9 standard, where pupils' take responsibility for their learning. I believe in giving pupils the content and knowledge for the grades, before helping and teaching them how to hone their writing to fit success criterias. Above all else, I believe in pupils' being curious and ambitious, fostering a love of literature over time.
