LESSONS FOR ADULTS AND CHILDREN

Currently offering instruction, teaching, coaching in piano, theory, composition and * Freestyle * music creation & performance.
I travel & teach in your home at a mutually conveniently scheduled time on a weekly schedule.
This helps parents and students by solving the problems with travel associated with arriving on time for a scheduled lesson.

Due to this I leave a 1 hr gap timeframe between each student giving myself enough rest and travel time between each student and to reflect on the goals of each student prior to arriving.

I only offer one hr minimum lessons at an hourly Fee of £40 plus an additional £10 Fee per visit to compensate for travel time, fuel and any parking fees.

The Chalfonts, Gerrards Cross, Dukes Wood, Fulmer, Beaconsfield, Chorleywood, Amersham, Great Missenden, Sarratt, Cookham, Bourne End, Marlow.

Beginners / Intermediate TO ADVANCED TRAINING.
CLASSICAL ABRSM TRADITIONAL HOWEVER I DO TEACH ADULTS AND ADULT RESTARTERS HOW TO CREATE AND * FREESTYLE PLAY AT THE PIANO.
NOTATION READING * IS NOT REQUIRED *
I ALSO TEACH ROCK, BLUES, COMPOSITION, SONGWRITING, THEORY AND HARMONY.
plus Blues chords & scales, in addition ROCK CHORDS.

FOR THE MORE SERIOUS
ABRSM Exams arranged if desired. An excellent goal however requires time and devotion.

Earlier grades can be taught and lessons can be curtailed with ABRSM exams if desired

I give all students excellent training in the correct technical command of the instruments to gain complete control over the technique of playing the grand piano.

2) University level study with Robert Silverman, one of Canada's most recognized Concert Pianists and classical recording Artists, former Head Of University of British Columbia's Music department.

Advanced studies with Phylis Schultz University of British Columbia Music Department.

4) Jazz tuition with Bob Doyle Vancouver session musician and performer.

5) Stephen Lansberry - Widely known private Piano Teacher - North Vancouver Studio equipped with 3 Concert Grand Pianos. 10 years private piano tuition. Age 6 to 16 completed numerous piano Competitions, awarded the Most Outstanding Contestant of the North Vancouver Music Festival age 16, then completed Grade 10 Royal Toronto Piano Performers Diploma and all associated exams of theory, Harmony, Counterpoint, Analysis and history of music.

Stephen Lansberry then retired and it was arranged that I continue my studies with Phyllis Schulze a Member of The Faculty of Music at the University of British Columbia.

Completed my A. R. C. T. Under the tutorship of Phyllis Schulze.

Entered the 'Du Maurier Search for Stars' Canadian wide talent competition and was chosen by a select panel of 6 judges as the only Pianist chosen to perform on prime time CBS television filmed in the Toronto Art Gallery.

Tutoring Experience

As both my parents were professional pianists and Graduates of the Toronto Conservatory of Music, my Father studied with renowned teacher Earle Moss at the Toronto Conservatory and obtained both The Associated Board Diploma and The Licentiate Diploma. Both my parents and were instrumental in the musical education fields of teaching both Piano performace and theory / harmony of music, as well as history of Music, I was fortunate enough to live in an environment where music was heard most hours of each day. I achieved my Piano Performers Diploma A.R.C.T. from the Toronto Conservatory of Music in 1979 with a First Class Honors grade and then continued my studies with three advanced well known performer / teachers at the University of British Columbia: Phylis Schultz, Pavel Checinski and Robert Silvermann, Concert Pianist and recording Artist. I also studied Jazz piano styles with Bob Doyle, one of Vancouvers leading Jazz pianists.my early studies were with Stephen Lansberry at his private studio equipped with three Concert grand pianos, located in North Vancouver, who was an excellent teacher, giving me superb instruction on the technical training and expression and form of classical piano technique, combined with an excelled learning curve in my formative years of study.

I taught my first students from the age of 16.

I know that any person that studies under my guidance will be pleased by their quick progress and find a real thrill and passion for actively playing the piano and creating or recreating music.

I welcome all students who may have been learning for years but have hit 'a brick wall' with their enjoyment perhaps by too standard or a repetitive 'Royal Schools Repertoire ONLY teaching approach' whereby perhaps a new teaching / approach method would benefit and rekindle the excitement and desire to create and learn music in a more expressive impressionistic way.

I taylor my teaching approach individually tailored towards the goals and interests of each individual student.

I teach / coach / instruct by actively demonstrating by example.

I can also teach on home keyboards and give tuition on the functions and use of more advanced studio keyboards.
