I’m a passionate and experienced educator with over 12 years of teaching and leadership experience in both UK and international settings. I’ve taught English, History and maths across Key Stages 3 to 5, including the IB Diploma Programme. In addition to History to A Level, I have tutored English and maths up to GCSE level, (English for higher, maths to foundation) English as a Foreign Language, IELTS preparation, and Maths up to Year 9. I hold a PGCE (Distinction), CELTA, and IB-accredited training in History and Theory of Knowledge (TOK). I have a proven track record of helping students build confidence, deepen their understanding, and achieve excellent results through engaging and personalised online sessions.

I also speak Mandarin Chinese, having spent over 10 years in china.

Tutoring Experience

I’ve worked with learners aged 7 to 18 across a range of educational settings, from international schools to UK-based tuition centres. Currently, I serve as the Director of a tuition centre that supports students up to GCSE level in both English and Maths. Prior to this, I taught IB History and coordinated the Theory of Knowledge programme at Suzhou Singapore International School, leading curriculum development and staff training. I also have a strong background in English as a Foreign Language, having designed and delivered IELTS and academic literacy courses. As Senior Director of Studies for EF Education First, I oversaw operations across multiple centres, trained over 50 teachers, and led the successful launch of a nationally adopted grammar course. My students consistently exceed their targets, and I have a particular passion for supporting learners from multilingual and diverse backgrounds.

Tutoring Approach

My approach to tutoring is calm, structured, and student-focused. I believe that every learner is different, so I tailor each session to suit the individual’s pace, goals, and preferred learning style. Whether a student needs help tackling GCSE English questions, improving their IELTS score, or building foundational confidence in Maths, I aim to make learning engaging and accessible. I combine clear explanations with active questioning and regular feedback to ensure real understanding and progress. My goal is always to support students not just to succeed in exams, but to become more independent, confident learners who feel empowered in their studies.
