Dongying is an excellent tutor. She is very patient, professional, respectful and kind. She is very positive and determined for you so that you feel very confident at the end of each lesson. She works at your pace but challenges you in a helpful way so that you really feel you are learning.

Dongying, has a really great teaching technique in teaching mandarin. What is taught is the language that is used in daily life, which is helpful. She also challenges you by making you create answers in Chinese on the spot which enables practise of the language, and allows you to think in the language. Practising speaking improving on tones and phonetics does make a difference especially as it’s with someone who is from China. She motivates me more in practising Chinese daily.

Dongyin is an excellent teacher, very patient as well as engaging so my son is progressing very well and keen to come back each week to learn more!

We asked Dongying to teach the Chinese language to our three-year-old daughter. Although she is too young and she doesn't understand the concept of learning a second language yet, She has learned a lot after about 5-6 weeks. She can count from 1 -20 and knows the colours, some animals and other words needed for daily communication like Hello and Goodbye.
Dongying is a very thoughtful and professional teacher, not only Chinese is her native language, but also she has an academic linguistic background and every time She is using different techniques to teach my daughter. Meanwhile, as my wife and I are present in the class, Dongying is kind enough to teach us the language as well, so we all benefit from her class and I strongly recommend her to other people who would like to learn this ancient and beautiful language.

Truly cannot recommend Dongying enough, my son Freddie is thriving having her as a tutor. Always on hand if I need to ring and ask a question, such a lovely lady as well, the best tutor we have ever had!

Dongying has been a great teacher in our first couple of lessons. We have tried to focus on my weakest areas and have been able to find a good level of challenge as an adult learner.

Learning Mandarin with Dongying has given me more confidence to use Mandarin in my day job working in public relations. My learning has been focused on practising and learning how to communicate in Mandarin and written Chinese for a number of particular scenarios with the media which was exactly what I wanted. I would highly recommend Dongying.

Amazing teaching, patient and great explanations. Made learning chinese sound easier than I thought

We have had a very good experience with Ms , she has been very accommodating and flexible with our 8 year old son for lessons at varying times to fit around his school life, which can be very tricky to do with a boy at his age!

Ms has been quick to adapt to our needs as we are already a Chinese speaking household but with little or no exposure to the written language at home, our son has been introduced to new characters and phrases in a structured way and is showing good progress as he is able to put together more complex sentences with some practice, something that he may not have felt confident enough to do before he started his lessons. We hope to continue his lessons and help build his basic knowledge of Mandarin up to a level where he will be comfortable using it on his own and keep his interest in continued learning.

Ms. has been very knowledgeable and resourceful her teaching and it is fantastic she is also able to teach Chinese to young children with such patience. I would not hesitate to recommend her services to others!

She is dedicated to teaching Mandarin with passion. She is responsive to individual needs where more support is required and she is patient to explain structure of the language and to repeat correct pronunciation if required. Unfortunately her teaching is currently limited to online sessions only due to Covid pandemic however given these circumstances she excels at excellent teaching and supporting in a proactive manner.

Dongying has been fantastically accommodating and my daughter seems to be really enjoying the Mandarin sessions that she has each week. I would have no hesitation in recommending Dongying to anyone looking to improve their Chinese language skills and am confident that her approach is fun, engaging and really works. Dongying is a great tutor and she makes our sessions very engaging. She is a very competent linguist and I feel that I have definitely improved since beginning with her. Also, our discussions are not only helpful but very interesting too. I definitely recommend her.

As an advanced learner, with a C grade in A-level Chinese already, I had very specific requirements but Dongying was very flexible and adapted her teaching to match my needs. She is very helpful and encouraging. I wish I was as confident about my Chinese as she is.

We've had a couple of lessons now. Despite my daughter's young age, Dongying has tailored each lesson to make it entertaining and informative. We're really enjoying it!

I've only had a few lessons with Dongying but I will definitely continue my studies with her. She has a very friendly and structured approach to teaching and, unlike previous tutors I have had, she is very good at trying to engage me in speaking and repeating words and phrases. I can tell she is very passionate about getting me to learn the language (whereas, I'm sorry to say, previous tutors I've had have given me the impression that they are only in it for the cash).

I am an adult learner but I can tell she would be great with kids too as she has lots of props to aid learning and make it more fun and interesting, including flashcards.

I have one-to-one lessons with Dongying and she is a great Chinese tutor. I have had one-to-one lessons with two other teachers before her but where Dongying is superior is she adapts her expectations and approach to your level and responds to the things you know and the things you are struggling with. I was not a beginner as I had lived in China before but my Chinese is very patchy and her style meets these needs perfectly. She is also well resourced with suitable flashcards and other materials to put together very effective lessons.

My daughter enjoys her first 2 lessons with Ying. Somehow, Ying has a way to make lessons very interesting for my daughter. My daughter seems more confident now and starts to show interest in mandarin even when she is at home.
