Following a career in Neuroscience, Psychology and in the NHS, I have now decided to down tools and concentrate on my love of teaching the science subjects, Maths and Psychology. I can now help my students to reach their full potential in subjects which might be difficult or challenging for them, at whatever level. Within the NHS, I received many awards including an accolade from the Prime Minister at Lancaster House recognising hard work and dedication in delivering excellence in a public service. I have a personal interest in both dyslexia and Neurolinguistic Programming, which can aid in overcoming specific obstacles to learning. I will do whatever it takes to help you.

Tutoring Experience

While I am not a trained teacher, I am a scientist, with years of commercial experience in Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. I work with a range of ages, from 10-adult, and a range of ability, from those struggling with the sciences and Maths, up to potential veterinary and medical students, all wanting to improve their ability and exam results to progress to their next stage. I also help with both personal statements and interview techniques, if needed. Past students include those who are now doctors, vets, dentists, dental nurses, veterinary nurses, ecologists, engineers, architects, physiotherapists and psychologists, many of whom I continued to help during their degree. I love my work and would not swap it for the world. The knowledge and understanding of Science, Maths, Healthcare, Animal Welfare & Ecology is my passion. I have an enhanced CRB check.

Tutoring Approach

My passion is the world about us and the interaction between that and the animal and plant world. If I can help to foster my love of Science & Maths amongst my students, whatever their age, I am happy. I have a student-centred teaching approach with the emphasis on a fun learning environment. I am intuitive to individual learning issues result in specific learning difficulties, such as dyslexia, writing problems, or low confidence. I work carefully and patiently with each student to help overcome these obstacles to learning to help them gain the most confidence. base my teaching on every day life, and on all of the different academic syllabuses.
