I am an enthusiastic secondary school teacher in a outstanding school in Leatherhead. I currently teach Maths up to GCSE level and have excellent knowledge and understanding of core content.My aim is to help young people develop their skills in key concepts that enables them to become confident mathematicians and turn weaknesses into strengths.

Tutoring Experience

I am about to embark on my tenth year working in schools and seventh teaching Maths. I have worked as a teaching assistant in my early career before becoming a teacher in both Physical Education and Maths. I currently split my teaching timetable between Maths and a little bit of PE and Design Technology have been a Head of Year for 5 years and and Assistant Head of Year 3 years prior to that. I have taught clases from Y7 upwards, with my main responsibilities now lying with KS4. In terms of tutoring, I have tutored many students maths within the Surrey region over the past 8 years with fantastic results.

Tutoring Approach

I will ensure that all young people will leave each session having made progress in their learning. I will work closely with each person to ensure that they improve at their own pace which will enable them to maximise their potential. I will test students knowledge at the end of each session to show progressions and identify targets for next time, often setting homework if you require. This way, pupils can begin to enjoy their learning and take such confidence back into the classroom. I will focus on areas of weakness but also try to match the scheme of work that your child is doing in school to ensure that they are taking their learning from my sessions into the classroom.
