Dawud

My name is Dawud, and I am currently doing a law degree at the University of Warwick. At my previous school I was head of the Law Society and achieved all 9s at GCSE, so I know what it takes. At A level, I took a mix of humanities and sciences, getting A*AA. I live in North West London and would say I am most interested in history.

Tutoring Experience

When volunteering with a local schools enrichment programme at my old school, I have experience with teaching children from ages as low as seven. At my law society, I was responsible for a classroom of 20 teenagers at a time. In both scenarios I was the main authority in the classroom.

Tutoring Approach

For each lesson, I will talk through the topic that the child is troubled with, and pre-prepare exam like questions for us to go through for each lesson. A large portion of the lesson will also be spent on the homework from the previous week, which I will set. This structure is flexible depending on if there is particularly tricky topic or how close we are to exams. I intend to stay one topic ahead of the school at all times, although the lessons will not be too high pressured and will mainly be a way for the child to voice any questions he has.
