I love helping people to understand and apply knowledge. Whether it's getting your head round some of the more difficult parts of the A level Psychology specifications, or making up lost ground in GCSE Maths or English, watching lightbulbs appear above students' heads is what makes me happy!
For degree level Psychology, I can offer focused help with projects, research methods and essay-writing skills, and well as helping with subject knowledge.
I've been teaching for 25 years in state and private schools, FE colleges and universities. I've been doing one-to-one tutoring for 15 years in the UK and in the USA. All of my students have gained better grades in exams than they would have without me, they've said.
I start off by finding out where you're at and where you need to get to. Then it's a case of working out the best way for individual students to get from one to the other. I adapt to your style of learning so that it's easy for you to follow the route and reach your destination smoothly. If I can make you smile on the way, so much the better!
Experience has shown me that, while online teaching at degree level can work well, face-to-face is better for school-level work.
