David

I am an experienced, popular, and successful tutor with a real passion for helping students to reach their full potential. Over the last twelve years, I have achieved positive results with many students, particularly in terms of building their confidence and self-belief. While I remain aware of the value that I can bring, my aim is to remain competitive in terms of pricing for my services. My English specialties include modern literature, conflict poetry, gothic literature, Shakespeare, 20th-century plays, creative writing, and language & vocabulary skills. History specialties include 19th & 20th Century European history, 19th & 20th Century American history, WW1, WW2, Cold War in Europe and Asia. Ethics specialties include crime and punishment, war and peace, Plato, Aristotle, and modern European Philosophy.
In addition to tutoring, I am also a successful internationally published author and historian. During the summer months I work as a tour guide in the UK and Europe.

Tutoring Experience

I have worked as a home tutor for twelve years, during which time I have achieved some notable successes with students. My experience covers exam boards in England, Wales, and Scotland.
I have also worked as an Exam Marking Supervisor for Edexcel.

Tutoring Approach

I have a patient and structured approach to tutoring. However, I am also flexible in responding to individual need and can tailor tutorials in order to provide the most beneficial and positive learning experience for the student. I aim to make tutorial sessions informative, stimulating and not least, fun.
