Private English and Geography Tuition in North Walsham

Passionate to teach and tutor Chinese students who require help with their English.
A fun and positive English tutor. I am a certified English Teacher, I have lived and taught abroad, and I received high quality teacher training in my previous schools. Pastoral care is a particular passion of mine so I have worked as a Head of House and I now volunteer as a Christian Youth Worker at our local church.
I am taking a year out of work to volunteer and pursue my hobbies of music and travel.

Tutoring Approach

Most importantly - my teaching must engage my students in a way that they enjoy the process of learning. I am also very pastoral, and ensure that my students are comfortable and cared for as they learn.
I like to employ a student centered approach to teaching - always thinking about what the student needs and how they may best learn the required content.
I like to first discern what students know and do not know, and then focus my teacher input on the areas of need.
I also like to encourage my students to learn for themselves through an approach called guided discovery. This requires the teacher to effectively set up the tasks and examples in a way that allow the students to infer the rules/content for themselves. All learning should be assessed in some form, to determine whether or not the students have learnt the content taught. And finally I like to make a space for learners to teach others what they have just learnt, because this displays the highest level of comprehension.
