I am a secondary school English teacher based in South Lanarkshire. I enjoy teaching all areas of the English curriculum and can offer support in building skills and preparing learners for Critical Reading and RUAE examinations.
Please note, I do not work school holidays except by special arrangement
I have previous experience in one-to-one tuition as well as experience working with classes as part of a creative writing initiative in schools across Glasgow. I am currently working as a secondary English teacher in South Lanarkshire.
English, as a subject, is about the development of key skills, rather than the learning of information. I aim to build an approachable, friendly and relatable rapport with tutees during sessions. The goal is to make tutees feel more at ease than in the typical classroom setting to assist in building the confidence to demonstrate and further develop the fundamental language, literacy and literary skills required for SQA examinations. I will work to channel the development of these skills through relevant discussions, exercises and feedback pertaining directly to the specific SQA course content, with a view to preparing tutees for examinations.
