I am a retired teacher with experience outside of the education world. I have been working in youth organisations for over 30 years. I am an advocate of life-long learning and work to instill a thirst for education by making subjects understandable by appealing directly to the students' personal motivators and learning styles.
I am a Former Head of Department in state schools, now semi-retired. I have been a tutor since 2016. I am also a youth leader and a BPS Registered Psychologist (Graduate Member). My sum teaching experience covers over three decades.
I take a supportive, friendly approach on a collaborative basis, working with students by assessing their needs and creating a bespoke programme. I address knowledge gaps, linking learning to exam techniques, revision strategies, and structured learning. No two students are alike, and I adapt my teaching styles to each of them individually. To me,e a good tutor/student relationship is the key.
