I am Head of RVE and PSE at a School in North Wales. I am married with two daughters, one in high school and the other in year 4. In my spare time I enjoy watching my daughters play football, reading, listening to podcasts and running.
I have twenty years teaching experience, I have taught in schools in both England and Wales. I teach Religious Studies at both GCSE and A Level and have taught AQA, OCR and WJEC/Eduqas specifications. I am also an experienced examiner for GCSE and A Level Religious Studies.
I create a calm and supportive classroom atmosphere that helps students feel safe and open to learning. I recognise that students have varied learning preferences, so I incorporate a mix of teaching methods—visual aids, hands-on activities, discussions, and technology—to reach everyone. This inclusivity ensures that all students can access the material in a way that resonates with them. I have an aptitude for breaking down complex concepts into manageable parts, using clear language and relatable examples. This skill helps students grasp difficult topics and fosters a deeper understanding. I maintain high standards for all students, believing that they are capable of achieving great things. By setting clear expectations and providing the necessary support, I am able motivate students to strive for excellence and take ownership of their learning.
