I began my career as a Chemistry teacher at Eastbourne College, where I taught GCSE and A-level AQA Chemistry. Later, I relocated to Cambridge to undergo formal teaching training. There, I obtained a PGCE Secondary Chemistry with QTS, which allowed me to further develop my teaching skills.
My next teaching position was at St Mary's School Ascot, where I continued to teach Chemistry at both IGCSE (Edexcel) and A-level (OCR-A and B). This experience provided me with the opportunity to instruct students with a wide range of abilities.
In addition to teaching, I worked as a part-time tutor for over ten years, providing online and face-to-face assistance to A-level, IB, IGCSE, and GCSE students. I have consistently received high satisfaction ratings from both students and parents. I am well-versed in the content of the most common specifications and thoroughly enjoy supporting high-achieving students aiming for top universities, as well as those who struggle with foundational chemical concepts and need assistance in grasping them effectively.
I now work as a full-time Chemistry tutor.
I am a chemistry specialist and I have many years experience of teaching Edexcel IGCSE and OCR A/B A level qualifications in a high achieving school. I am also confident with the content of the AQA, OCR A/B and Edexcel GCSE and AQA and Edexcel A level specifications.
I am told to be an approachable person which allows me to build a very good working relationship with my students. They are never afraid of asking questions and this gives me the opportunity to identify problems and rectify them quickly.
I do not have a unique approach. All students are different and they have all different needs. I try building a relationship of trust and listen to what their needs are. Very often is the case that they lack confidence and they just need some reassurance. Chemistry is a challenging subject but most students can do very well provided they have self belief and are willing to work hard.
