Welcome to my profile. I am a dedicated and inspirational secondary school teacher, a champion for the Performing Arts with experience in leadership at all levels from departmental to whole school and senior leadership. I am a theatre director and workshop facilitator, who has been a Head of Faculty in Performing Arts for the last 10+ years.
I have been a KS3-5 teacher for over 18 years, with over 10 of those years spent in Arts Leadership. I have taught GCSE Drama from the Edexcel, AQA and WJEC exam boards. I have also taught A-Level Theatre Studies and BTEC Performing Arts Levels 2 and 3. Before moving into teaching, I worked for a theatre company for a number of years, and therefore have industry knowledge. I have experience in stage management and design as well as acting and directorial help. I am able to help with audition preparation or can assist with any performance support you may need.
My approach for preparing for any examination is to ensure the learner understands what is required from the exam board. This is done by breaking down the examination criteria and ensuring the learner has a scaffolded approach to be able to answer the questions. I scaffold from the top down, ensuring that learners are aiming for the very best grades available, whilst making sure they understand every step of the way, helping to achieve the grade they want to achieve and beyond.
