Hello I'm Corinne
As well as being an English teacher I'm also performance storyteller based in Bristol UK. I'm currently doing postgraduate research into orality and storytelling technologies at the University of Bristol.
As well as teaching core English skills at all levels, I specialise in teaching storytelling and public speaking for performance, confidence and relationship building, and communications development. I work with individuals, organisations across sectors, and corporate partners within the UK and internationally. So if you are interested in improving your language skills in order to strengthen your voice, and become a more creative and confident communicator within your professional and personal life - please get in touch!
I have been tutoring and teaching for over 10 years, with a diverse age and subject range.
I have taught privately and within language schools in the UK, France, and online. I have experience teaching home educated young people and SEND.
As well as teaching, I perform live stand-up storytelling publicly to young and adult audiences. I run workshop weekends for adults who want to develop their confidence, public speaking, improv and storytelling skills. Please get in contact or visit my website for more details.
I have a CELTA teaching certificate (2014), a first class BA in English from Falmouth University (2017), and an MA with distinction in Comparative Literatures and Cultures from the University of Bristol (2022).
My teaching approach, across all subjects, is to encourage confidence, find connections, and create positive learning opportunities for all ages, abilities and backgrounds.
I encourage curiosity and creativity in my lessons whilst maintaining the importance of focussed and organised learning. I am professional and friendly and will do my best to create lessons that best suit the individual needs of the student.
I went to a Steiner School until GCSE Level, so I feel that my teaching approach is also influenced by my own Waldorf education.
