Tutoring Experience

I'm a qualified teacher of 9 years and have taught a number of age groups, from Year 7 to Year 13. I began teaching History and specialist in Modern World History - having taught about Russia, China and the Cold War at A Level. I also specialize in UK Government and Politics. My favorite element of the course is Political Ideologies, I find them fascinating!
At GCSE I have taught the histories of Crime and Punishment, as well as Medicine, as well as the development of Weimar and Nazi Germany.

Tutoring Approach

I believe that very often, students have more than enough knowledge to succeed in their exams. Unfortunately however, they often miss out on the grades they want as they aren't familiar enough with how to approach the question, and don't know what the examiner is looking for. I base most of my sessions around exam questions - how to answer them and choose what information to select. Both History and Politics are skills-based exams, and require a level of understanding about how the examiner wants you to approach the question!
