Having trained as a secondary school teacher in France, where I spent 10 years, I am currently the A Level French teacher for an 'Outstanding' Suffolk sixth form college. I previously since taught French and English in two secondary schools in Bury St Edmunds, as well as providing individual support to SEN and EAL students. I regularly tutor pupils for French GCSE and A Level, focusing on oral work where appropriate, and GCSE English Langugage and Literature.

Before training as a teacher, I worked in London for over a decade in top arts institutions and lived in both Ireland and France. I have, therefore, a wide perspective of life beyond education, am passionate about the value of languages and adopt a creative approach to learning. However, I am very much aware of the need to focus on the requirements for success in formal exams as necessary. I have two teenage children myself so understand the needs, concerns and areas of interest of this age group.

Tutoring Experience

I am able to quickly identity and address the individual needs of pupils, tailoring my approach to the appropriate objectives, whether exam preparation (GCSE and 'A' Level), developing key skills or filling knowledge gaps. I am sensitive to issues affecting education, including physical and mental health issues.

Tutoring Approach

I am keen, above all, to boost confidence and encourage an enthusiasm for learning by providing the tools, as well as covering key topics, to achieve both personal and academic success. My experience and knowledge of schools' approaches, means I am able to consolidate, complement and support pupils' learning in the classroom.
