I am passionate about helping people to achieve their potential especially when it comes to learning something new or challenging. I have worked for pharmaceutical companies and have a Masters Qualification in Biochemistry and Microbiology. I have 2 young children and get so much joy from seeing them learn new skills. This is why I really enjoy tutoring and helping others to acheive their potential.
I have worked as a science technician at a secondary school helping students in their experimental procedures. When I started the role many of the experiments didn't work properly or efficiently and I really enjoyed the challenge of getting them back on track. I loved being back in the school environment it reminded me how fascinating learning is but also how stressful it can be, especially if you are struggling in a particular subject area. This is why I want to pass on my knowledge to assist young people in achieving their goals and most importantly give them the confidence they need to succeed.
I use a wide-range of techniques and attempt to tailor my sessions to each individual student to ensure that I can get the best out of them. I feel that it is important to increase a students' confidence in the subject they are struggling with and make them feel more positive about themselves and what they can achieve. I will regularly update parents and students on their progress. For examination preparation it is imperative that the student really understands what the question is asking and be able to pick out key words and phrases, therefore past test papers will be used to enable the student to really understand what the examiner is looking for.
