Hi!
My name is Clara. I’m 22 years old and currently studying for a Master’s degree in Medical Physics at King’s College London.
I’m from Madrid, Spain, but I have been living in the UK for 4 years as I studied the Physics BSc at Warwick University, where I graduated with a First Class.
I obtained Outstanding Performance Diplomas every academic year throughout Primary and Secondary Education and I was awarded the Honorary Mention from the Community of Madrid for my academic achievements in Secondary Education.
I did the International Baccalaureate with HL Mathematics, Physics and English (and SL Chemistry, Spanish and Business and Management), and obtained the Diploma with a 41/45.
I am patient, self-driven, responsible, dedicated and an excellent communicator.
I have been a private tutor for 6 years for numerous students of various ages. I have taught Maths, Physics and Chemistry, Spanish grammar and syntax… even Quantum Mechanics to my sister!
I can give lessons both in English and Spanish, and I have experience in-person and online.
My students have always succeeded in passing their examinations and most have developed an interest in the subject.
I try to make the lessons dynamic by frequently asking for the input and feedback of the student. This keeps them engaged and also helps me assess their level of understanding of the subject.
I personalise the teaching style and lessons to the student, depending on what I believe works for them best. I always introduce several ways of understanding/explaining complex concepts so the student can form a complete idea of the topic and decide on which way suits them best.
I believe practice is the key to both understanding and teaching. I prepare many exercises and questions or make them up for specific situations. This is benefitial for them (they learn to apply the concepts) and for me (it allows me to gauge their difficulties).
Finally, I always try to spark an interest in the subject by bringing up more advanced and interesting concepts, phenomena and real-life applications. Being motivated is essential for academic success!
