I am a UK Qualified Mathematics Teacher, who has been teaching for over 5 years and I currently teach in secondary phase. I am the Deputy head of Department at my current school, and I am also an official GCSE Mathematics examiner/assessor for Edexcel. I received my B.Sc. degree in Biomedical Materials Science at the University of Manchester in 2012 and then obtained a 1st Class Bachelors and a Master of Engineering degree in Medical Engineering at the University Bradford in 2014. I obtained my PhD in 2019 from the University of Sheffield in computational Mathematics. I love teaching all ages, as I am passionate about imparting knowledge. I also enjoy running, cycling and art as a hobby.
I have been tutoring and teaching for over 9 years with students aged from primary school age right up to university level students.
Although I currently teach secondary subjects, and also have experience in working 121 with SEN students.
My 1 to 1 SEN teaching assistant experience is in main stream schools where i have worked with students with ASD, Dyslexia and ADHD.
I have also designed, delivered and assessed a University course that took place over 5 weeks, in computational engineering and finally I have supervised 3 masters projects alongside my PhD.
Currently, I am working in main stream education as an (Ofsted) Outstanding Mathematics Teacher
I love to tutor and teach because I find that it is not so much the smartest students that are always successful; its the ones that have a passion and willingness to learn...
When I did my IGCSE's and A-levels, I struggled with Maths and physics, but still have very vivid memories of my teachers and tutors believing in me, explaining content with patience, and helping me understand my subjects in preparation for my exams - which lead me to achieving 3 grades higher than what I was initially predicted. I'd love to make a difference to young bright minds in the same way, and give back to education what it has given to me.
