My name is Chris, and I teach at an outstanding secondary school and sixth form in Yorkshire. I entered the teaching profession 23 years ago and still relish its challenges and rewards. Beyond teaching, I'm a keen sports enthusiast with a fondness for all competitive activities. Lately, golf has has been my focus, although rugby, skiing, and football remain among my passions.
With over 20 years of experience in teaching GCSE and A-level Physical Education, and more than a decade in leadership roles such as Programme Leader or Faculty Leader, I have the expertise to effectively prepare students for the theoretical aspects of these courses. A significant part of my professional expertise is my comprehensive knowledge of the criteria set by exam boards for practical assessments and coursework.
Learning should be a fascinating and enjoyable adventure. I firmly believe that we learn most effectively when we link new information to what we already know and have experienced. Working with students over the years has led me to understand that each subject is constructed from essential building blocks of knowledge, and grasping these fundamentals is vital.
The ability to apply knowledge effectively is key to student achievement. I'm an exponent of enhancing students' examination skills by teaching them systematic strategies for tackling the questions they will encounter in their exams.
Students will achieve their best results by combining their understanding of the course material with the ability to comprehend exam questions and subsequently apply their knowledge in context.
