I have been studying German since I was 10 years old, and I spent three years living in Vienna, in the german-speaking country Austria, where I completed my three-year masters degree.
I have now graduated and as well as teaching German and performing, I am also an experienced cello teacher.
My masters course was carried out in the german language, meaning I submitted coursework, attended lectures and seminars and interacted with my professors on a daily basis in german at a masters degree level. I always conducted my daily tasks in german including dealing with household bills, tenancy agreements, residency permits, doctors appointments and social activities. During my studies, I was also working as a freelance classical musician and always conducted my work in German. During my time in Vienna, I was a freelance English teacher and gave weekly english lessons to my private pupils as well as visiting Austrian schools to teach english and music.
My approach is very much tailored to the individual needs of the student. I am disciplined but kind, and my lessons are fun and engaging. I care a lot about the outcome of my lessons and the progress of my students. I am particularly passionate about German grammar and, as this is the area students find most challenging, I have many approaches to help students comprehend it well.
