Charnjit

I am an experienced private tutor based in Gravesend, with many years experience tutoring 11+ , SATS, Maths and English at Primary School Level (KS2). I also tutor Year 7 Maths as some children find the transition from Year 6 to Year 7 difficult.
I am a University Graduate with a BSc(Hons) in Chemistry with Business Administration and I also studied at Gravesend Grammar School for Girls.
I tutor from home and also online. I am fully DBS enhanced cleared.

Tutoring Experience

I have been on the Board of Governors at a Primary School for 7 years while my children were pupils at the school, therefore, I have a very clear understanding of the way in which the curriculum is taught from Reception to Year 6. Additionally, I have helped many students in gaining confidence and a clearer understanding of the subjects being taught. One of my aims is to enhance the students' academic skills and teach them with a technique that suits them best as I understand that each child has individual needs.

Tutoring Approach

Initially, I tutored my 3 children and my friends' children in preparation for their 11+ exams; they all passed and managed to secure places at the Grammar Schools. Currently, my eldest son and daughter are studying at University whilst my youngest son attends Gravesend Grammar School. I am a dedicated and successful tutor who enjoys working with children and I gain great satisfaction from helping children to excel in their studies.
I have been teaching online by using zoom with the whiteboard. Zoom allows the student in the class to see each other. I can share material from their screens so that they can follow the lesson at the same time.
