I have a wealth of experience as a tutor helping students achieve their goals and hold a Phd in maths from the University of Warwick under the supervision of Fields Medal winner Martin Hairer and an undergraduate master's in maths from the University of Warwick (graduated first in class of over 300). I have published two papers in international maths journals, had a visiting academic position at New York University, been in receipt of a post graduate scholarship to Cambridge University, graduated with the highest average mark from my undergrad master's at Warwick (and won the maths prize every year it was offered), and achieved 6As at A-level (which was the highest number of grade A A-levels in the country that year) despite teaching myself my additional further maths A-level in 1 year. In 2015, the first time I took the exam, I got 775 in the UKCAT (820 VR, 900 QR, 670 AR, 710 DA) and also completed the GAMSAT with a score of 73 (reading 67, writing 68, science 79), those scores putting me in the top 2% of test takers in each exam.

Tutoring Experience

I have worked with great success as a private tutor for a number of years and taught at University level whilst completing my Phd. I have had great results in the past helping many students to get into top schools and universities, whilst helping struggling students radically improve their level of maths, scientific reasoning and grades. As well as offering general tutoring, I specialize in harder, later years degree or masters level courses.

Tutoring Approach

I have a flexible approach to tutoring that takes the student's needs into account. I generally start by checking whether the basic foundation of knowledge is in place and work upwards from there until I reach the level of topics that the student is no longer confident with and we work from there to improve the student's level of knowledge to achieve their goals usually involving some homework for the student between sessions.
