Charles has been an outstanding History tutor. I am 21 and took an alternative approach to completing my History A-level by doing it via distanced learning. Charles was very helpful, reliable and always replied to extra questions very quickly. I am also a shift worker and Charles was flexible in finding times that fitted around my shifts. My son is new to the UK and he chose History as one of his subjects. However, the lessons that he is having in his new school is very different compared to his old school. He is weak at answering the long questions, also called 16 marker question. The low marks that he got made him discouraged and caused him to lose interest in History. After a long talk with my son we decided that we need a tutor, and we found Charles.
After the first lesson, my son was very pleased with his new tutor Charles and he has helped my son with the techniques of answering the questions. The following lessons went very well and Charles has helped my son to memorise his lessons and his marks have improved.

Charles has been a great tutor for my daughter especially during the last few months before her GCSC exams. He was always an email away to any history question my daughter might have. Experienced, calm and patient, Charles built our son’s confidence in History and helped him improve his essay technique as well as consolidating his knowledge of underlying curriculum content. My son really liked Charles and found the initial lesson very interesting. However, we had earlier put out feelers for a local history tutor to teach my son in person but the one we liked was not available. They have since contacted us to say they have had a cancellation so we have opted for the in-person tuition rather than on-line.

Charles is an absolute gem! He started tutoring my teenage son about a month ago, and from the very start my son was so happy and truly enthused by their lessons together. My son had totally lost his passion for History, a subject he had loved for years. It was getting us all down, but I think we have found the cure! Charles has been such a fantastic find.

It is clear to both myself and my son's father that Charles has a real love for History, a sincere wish to impart his knowledge and passion to others, and, more importantly, a gift in bringing out the best in his students. Teenagers can sometimes be difficult to relate to, but Charles really has a warmth and understanding, and we are all so happy to see the change in our son's approach to what was his favourite subject.

Charles is helping our son to prepare for his GCSE exam. So far there were three sessions and we can't praise the tutor enough. Charles is tailoring each lesson to the pupil’s individual requirements, focusing on weakness and helping to develop strategies how to overcome problems. Our son loves the sessions and think they already have helped him a lot. We will definitely continue with Charles till exam time.

Hannah had become very concerned about the mass of information in the History course. Her college class was excessively large and she was struggling to make the transition from GCSE.
Charles' input enabled Hannah to understand more about the context of different topics through discussion, supplemented by a very practical emphasis on the importance of interpretation, exam technique and past papers. Gradually, this enabled Hannah to increase her confidence.

He was very helpful and rather than just giving my daughter answers, he encouraged further research and inspired a genuine interest in the topics discussed. She received excellent marks in all the work with which he helped and she is on track to achieve her A* at A Level.
