Ceri has been tutoring my son since November and helping him with preparing for his GCSE exams. He enjoyed every lesson with Ceri and has made a great progress in a short time. She really wants her students to do well and does everything she can to ensure they succeed. Definitely a tutor I would choose for my daughters in future and have no hesitation in recommending Ceri to others.

Ceri has been working with son on his GCSE english language revision. She has been been brilliant at building his confidence and helping him understand how he can approach questions to best match the mark scheme, working around his dyslexia. She has also supported me with resources and advice so I can support him on his english literature revision. He has become much more positive about the subject as a result - and his writing has improved enormously - which is a massive step forward for him. Her work is organised and structured and she is always very clear what she plans to cover / has covered. We can't thank you enough Ceri!

Andy ended year 10 with grades of 5 in Literature and 6 in Language. The first mocks in year 11 were approaching so Andy and I wanted to try a tutor for him to try boost his English a little as it was his lowest grades. Although it was quite late in the year and Ceri had very limited spaces, she still managed to find an appropriate schedule that could work for both of us with some shifts here and there. Today was results day and Andy managed to achieve an 8 in English literature and a 9 in English Language! Not just a little boost, a 3 grade boost in both Literature and language!! Thank you Ceri!

Ceri has tutored my son throughout year 11 in English weekly. She has enabled my child to grow in confidence , with a very well structured training program and the tool kit he needed to be address both English Lang and English literature. Our daughter received Grade 7 in summer post school Assessments for GCSE.

Ceri was able to provide invaluable support & guidance during week more intensive before school start & week before exam daily with twice a week in between.

Ceri tutored my son. Her teaching and approach was always very focused, efficient and friendly. She worked with him to improve on his descriptive writing skills and his ability to accurately answer questions, thus increasing his overall confidence towards the exam. Given the tight timescales we had, we were also appreciative that she was happy to answer/ review his work outside the lesson. I had a situation where my son required to retake GCSE English exam and he was given 48hrs notice by his school considering special circumstanced due to Covid-19. He was not sure whether he will be able to achieve required grades, his moral was down and he was confused, he had no preparation at all. I decided to find a tutor who could help, I dropped a message to Ceri at 6:25am that she replied at 6:45am and understood the situation and immediately planned what support my son needed and prepared to give him first lesson same day.
After his first lesson, his moral was touching the peak of mount Everest, he did fantastic in both of his exams.

Ceri is an amazing teacher who can guide the student in the right direction. My daughter was getting Grade 7s and she was able to overcome her weaknesses and achieve higher grades in her GCSE mocks. My son has just passed both his GSCE english exams under the new grading system. His is dyslexic and has never had a really positive school report. Ceri took my son on in the last third of his penultimate year with predicted grades that would of required him to resit his english exams at college. I was really worried about him even passing english resits at college. If your looking for a private tutor that can turn around a child who is willing to put the effort in to help themselves & they have mild dyslexic i can not recommend her enough. Just wish we had started the lessons earlier, as her help has improved all his subjects. thanks so much

She has an approachable yet firm manner, is friendly and encouraging.
It was important to both my son and I that he was able to ‘gel’ with his tutor - I can honestly say it happened on the first visit!
Since then my Son has done some mock exams and the improvement has been to go up a level not only in English, but also Science & Art the surprising bonus!
He has taken on board what Ceri is showing him and his confidence has grown, where he just didn’t understand he now sees and it’s fantastic to see.
He has been set back by illness but is looking forward to his next session.
As a parent it is never a problem to get him to Ceri’s tutor sessions even though it’s an hour drive each way and a very intensive hour one on one tutoring - he can plainly see the benefits.

I cannot recommend Ceri highly enough as an English tutor. She has taught my 15 year old son for the past academic year, to help with his GCSE examinations and his attainment and confidence has grown more than I ever could have hoped for.

Ceri is caring and approachable, whilst being professional and well organised. Her sessions are well planned and structured but flexible enough to meet my son's individual needs. She has endless enthusiasm and resources and is more than willing to share this, whether through working with my son, providing the necessary literature, feed back on his progress or being available by phone or email to help with any of his difficulties.
