Tutoring Experience

I have over four years of experience teaching both Cantonese and Mandarin to students around the world. My youngest student was just five years old, and the oldest was over seventy. I’ve taught university students — including those from Oxford and Cambridge — as well as learners from France, Spain, and many other places globally.

My students come from all kinds of backgrounds: some can understand a bit of Cantonese but can’t speak, some only know a few words, some are complete beginners, and others have been learning for a while but feel stuck. No matter where they are in their learning journey, I always do my best to support them — helping them not only learn more, but also actually use what they already know with confidence.

Tutoring Approach

I don’t follow a one-size-fits-all teaching style. Every student is different, so I tailor each lesson based on your level, goals, and interests. I adjust the pace and difficulty to suit you, and I use different materials depending on what works best for each learner.

Instead of only focusing on memorising vocabulary or writing characters, I like to bring in real-life topics — things you're interested in, popular culture, current events, or seasonal festivals — to make learning fun, natural, and useful. My goal is to create a relaxed, engaging environment where you feel comfortable learning and speaking Cantonese or Mandarin.
