After successfully tutoring my own child (and help her move from set 3 to set 1), I decided to go into teaching. I completed a PGCE secondary Maths in 2021 and have been teaching in a local secondary school since then.
I hold a first degree in Chemistry from the University of Barcelona, and I completed postgraduate courses in the UK (MSc-University of London, DPhil-University of Oxford).
I have always worked in chemical research until I decided to move into secondary school education after helping my own child and enjoying teaching Maths.
I have recently completed a PGCE and have taught KS3 and KS4 over the course of my training. Therefore am up to date with school methods of teaching Mathematics - which has changed significantly over the years, and with the resources that work best for students.
In the past I organised monthly learning-by-playing activities in a non-profit pedagogical association for children aged 2 - 8 years of Spanish origin. . I have been actively involved in teaching since my PhD studies. I have taught undergraduates as a lab demonstrator and over the years, I have further developed my mentoring skills by supervising graduates and postdoctoral researchers of different cultures and nationalities.
I want to make Maths a fun subject for all. I will ask questions to the student to assess where they are at and I will help you to become confident in this fascinating subject.
