Experienced class-teacher, school-leader and tutor with a track record of helping children to make progress and achieve great results. I am an extremely patient, kind, smiley and approachable person who enjoys one-to-one, or group teaching, to see every child's full potential. I can teach all primary subjects as well as having experience preparing children for 7+ and 11+ exams. In addition, I am fully qualified in CELTA and able to teach English as an addition language to children and adults.
I have taught in KS1 in West London (around Ealing) for many years, specifically in SATS year 2, and have led my class of 30 to outstanding results. Currently I am Deputy Head at a West London Preparatory School and Designated Safeguarding Leader and wellbeing champion. I develop the curriculum, from EYFS through to Year 8, with spelling and grammar and creative writing as my specialised subjects. I have worked with a huge range of curriculum levels in addition to working closely with children with Special Educational Needs and those with English as an Additional Language. I have taught and led Nursery classes through to thirteen year-olds. I have taught in KS2 and led 11+ booster groups.
I find great pleasure in making those 'penny dropping' moments happen, and I always teach in a way that is best suited to the individual's learning need, providing tailored resources to support and motivate pupils.
Since having a baby and due to the pandemic, I have been tutoring online using Zoom. It has turned out to be such a positive experience. I find it is convenient for everybody and we are able to make the best use of the hour and I am able to share my screen many resources, past exam papers and many other challenges with the children.
I am happy to tutor ages (4-11) on weekday evenings, or on weekends.
