I am a professional, family man, proud father of two talented young children, and partake in sport. I have a degree in Computing (Applied Science) - Monash University, Victoria, Australia. I ran a business in Sydney for many years, for which I trained dozens of people from all walks of life, professionally and personally, in various facets of computing, the basics of the vast, ever changing internet world, Windows and the ubiquitous MS Office suite (to advanced level). I am experienced in hardware and software support, well versed in web development, and can confidently explain all things IT in lay terms to anyone.
Teaching experience began primarily with 1-1 tuition of clients, as outlined above. Tutees of all ages, ranging from those with learning disabilities, young students (11-16) and adults who either ran their own business and needed to enhance their skills, to individuals who simply wanted to “know more” and gain confidence and independence in the use of computers, the internet and the web.
I have taught ICT at Watford Grammar School for Boys, Hertfordshire.
Since 2014, I have run the IT operations and been the “go-to” IT support person for a successful marketing company in Hertfordshire.
With the fast pace of modern day technology, computers, mobile phones and devices, whether Apple, Android or other, I have offered sound support in this area, lots of useful "Oh wow, is that how you can do it" tips & tricks, and tie it all in with others' learning needs.
I have a very easy-going, individualised approach to tutoring, tailored to your needs. My aim is to first identify your needs and goals, so that you can learn and understand only what you feel needs the most strengthening. This invariably leads to broader learning; the more you learn, the more you want to learn. My goal and passion is for you to gain independence and confidence in your areas of interest. If you wish to drive, you drive; if you prefer me to drive - that's also fine! We can find a balance.
I have enjoyed tons of years in sharing all my knowledge and experience with other people, be they work colleagues, business owners, professionals, or friends, whether the smallest or the most complex of things. It's very satisfying watching others progress, regardless of level or pace.
