I am studying for a Masters in Biomedical Engineering at Imperial College London. I chose this course because it combines my three favourite subjects - Physics, Maths and Chemistry. My interest and enthusiasm for these subjects is what makes my course so enjoyable and this is the kind of attitude that I try to impart on to my students. I am very knowledgeable in the subjects which I have chosen to tutor and I achieved a very high top grade in each of them in A-Level equivalent exams. I know exactly what is required to get a good grade in these subjects and I understand the pressure which students are under. This understanding is what makes me stand out because I know exactly what type of support that I need to provide to my students and I can empathize with their struggles. I am extremely patient and enthusiastic and have a good attitude when it comes to teaching. My enthusiasm for these subjects is infectious and I hope that my students will also grow to love their subject. In short, I am knowledgeable, patient and always looking forward to teaching new students
I have over 600 hours of tutoring experience over the last 2 years. I give lessons every day of the week and have worked across many different exams boards and levels. Many of my students have achieved excellent grades and serious improvements as a results of our lessons together. I am also not so far out of school that I forget what taking serious exams is like and the stresses and pitfalls of the experience.
My tutoring sessions are dynamic and I will change my technique based on what suits my individual students best. We all learn best in different ways and studying well is all about finding out what works for you. In talking with my student we will discover what works well for them and tailor the sessions accordingly. My sessions will focus on the weak points in a students chosen subject. In each sessions we will work on a previously agreed topic and I will explain the main concepts of that topic and then we will look at some problems together. I will be rigorously prepared for every sessions so that there are clear goals and no time is wasted. Tutoring can be extremely beneficial but only when it is backed up with good individual study from the student. I know this can be hard so I will work with my students on a plan so that they can solidify the information gained from our sessions. My approach to tutoring is a holistic one so I try to look at all the different factors which can improve a students grade (enthusiasm, individual study, improving weak points, etc.) and work on each of them.
