I’m a dedicated, highly experienced and qualified AS/A Level & IGCSE History teacher and examiner with over 16 years of teaching experience. In addition, I have experience teaching English Language and Literature.
I want to assist academically orientated students, especially those writing for examination boards, gain more confidence in the subject content and their writing skills.
I enjoy the outdoors and am often off mountain biking or trail running. I also enjoy reading, and joining historical tours or volunteering for archaeological digs

Tutoring Experience

I have taught in a classroom since 2006, and have been fortunate enough to teach a number of subjects, but specialising in History and English. I have also had experience teaching in a SEN environment and have gained skills in this area that have helped my teaching.

Tutoring Approach

My lessons are academically orientated around curriculums such as:
IGCSE, AS Level and A Level curriculum (CIE, Ed-excel, AQA exam boards), Classical Society and History, and Southern African History
*Writing skills relative to History or English essays
*Writing paragraphs and answering short questions with confidence
*Analysing and interpreting different historical sources, and understanding timelines
*Examination preparation - IGCSE, AS Level and A' Level
